CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Betty Kittleson, 74, fell in love with the Chicago Cubs after meeting her husband Bob, a die-hard fan. They watched games together on T.V. for 50 years, only attending a game once.

But on Friday, Betty was granted her "Wish of a Lifetime." She attended the Cubs home opener on Wrigley Field's 100th birthday, watching the team she grew to love so much for the first time in 20 years.

Brookdale Living partnered with Wish of a Lifetime to help Betty celebrate her husband's life and their love of baseball at Wrigley. Betty beamed the entire time.

Kittleson s a resident of Sterling House of Middleton in Middleton, Wis., a Brookdale community. She grew up cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers. It really must have been love for Bob to change Betty's allegiance.

"I'm really excited and looking forward to the game," Kittleson said before traveling to Chicago's north side. "Go Cubs!"

Brookdale said this special lady has overcome many obstacles in her life and is known for her generosity.

Brookdale and Wish of a Lifetime began working together in 2010, to help make residents' life-long dreams into realities.
