Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction at Barclays

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Brooklyn was jumping Thursday night to the sounds of the music industry's biggest rock stars.

Nirvana, KISS, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, Hall and Oates, the E Street Band, Andrew Loog Oldham and Brian Epstein became the latest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony at Barclays Center.

The event came with some controversy as only the original members of KISS were inducted and not longtime band members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer.

Paul Stanley of KISS, who recently released a book about the anti-Semitism he says he endured from original band mates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, told FOX 5 News morning program 'Good Day New York' that the governing body of the organization is really just "an old boys club."

"They begrudgingly took us in. It's a few people making decisions of who they want in," said Stanley.

Many of the inductees took the stage to perform as well.

The Award of Musical Excellence was presented to The E Street Band.

The 29th induction ceremony took place at 7 p.m.

It will also air on HBO on May 31 at 9 p.m.

Everyone hates long lines at security checkpoints and the TSA knows it. Now the TSA is sponsoring a contest to encourage anyone with new ideas about how to make the airport security lines go faster. Often for air travelers, the security checkpoint experience is the worst part of their trip. That's why the TSA turned to the crowdsourcing site Innocentive asking for ideas pledging a total of $15,000 in prize money, with at least one $5,000 award.

From coffee shops in Brooklyn to restaurants in Manhattan, we find speakeasies standing out by blending in. When people in Bushwick want a green machine juice blend they visit Leticia Castillo's Owl Juice Pub. But first they must find the owl. "We been doing fine without a sign," Castillo says.
