Most of us never met him, but we all felt like we knew him.
Captain Herb Emory who helped Atlantans navigate traffic for over 40 years passed away Saturday. Emory was trying to help some drivers who were involved in a crash in Douglas County when he fell ill.
He was taken to the hospital where he suffered a heart attack and died.
Captain Herb was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2008 and received the Inaugural Excellence in Motorsports journalism award in 2012.
