Teen shot in head was a bystander

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - A 13-year-old boy who was shot in the head in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn on Monday was caught in the crossfire.

Police say two men were shooting at each other. One of the men was shot in the leg. That man and the innocent teen was taken to Kings County Hospital.  Each was listed in stable condition on Tuesday.

The boy, identified by the NY Post as Gama Droiville, was walking along busy Flatbush Ave. near Beverly Road with his aunt when the gunfire broke out. The pair tried to run away, but a stray bullet struck the boy from behind in his head and near his right eye.

The shootings took place at about noon as a 24-year-old man was getting out of a cab.

One of the gunmen, believed to be black, in his 20s, was wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt with 'ROC' on the front and back and '99' on both arms.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
