Jerry Bruckheimer: Nice Guys Do Finish First

Posted: Updated:

Nice guys do finish first, case in point Producer Jerry Bruckheimer.  His films, more than 40 of them, have made billions and billions and billions of dollars.  And yet he is grounded and kind and happily married to the same woman for nearly 40 years.

Bruckheimer came into our studios today to talk about his new book.  It's called "When Lightning Strikes: Jerry Bruckheimer-Four Decades of Filmmaking".  It's a huge book, weighing more than 10 pounds and it's filled with stories and pictures from all those classic blockbusters we've grown up on, not to mention the television shows.

Bruckheimer himself also took many of the photos himself, having fallen in love with photography at the age of 6 (there's a cute photo of him as a little boy with a big camera around his neck).

What touched me the most was reading what his wife Linda wrote about him…perhaps that's the secret to a marriage that's lasted a lifetime!

He also told us why he's been working on getting a sequel to "Top Gun" for 30 years, and why that's been difficult.  "Beverly Hills Cop" will get a sequel that will start filming later this year.  And this summer "Deliver Us From Evil" about paranormal activity which he says is super scary.

I asked him about his so called "Golden Gut" that's helped him make so many successful movies and t-v shows.  He said he just made movies that he was interested in seeing, and that he and his wife routinely go to the movie theater and will catch a double feature, popcorn and all.

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled in the hardware department so I can't say whether the Surface Pro 3 will be the hero Microsoft needs but I can say it is the modern computing experience users deserve. I love it and think you should too! Read on to find out why.
