(WJBK) - A police officer from Windsor, Ontario is accused of having drugs in his possession as he attempted to cross the Ambassador Bridge into the United States.
David Bshouty, 31, was taken into custody by the Department of Homeland Security on the Detroit side of the bridge after cocaine was discovered inside his vehicle, authorities say. Bshouty was off-duty at the time.

Bshouty has been arraigned on possession of under 25 grams of narcotics.

He received a $25,000 bond and is scheduled back in court on April 25.

FOX 2's Randy Wimbley reports the Windsor police had been suspicious after receiving an anonymous tip in February that Bshouty was smuggling drugs across the border.
