LA Mission Hosts Good Friday Dinner, Events For Homeless

(FOX 11 / CNS) The Los Angeles Mission will host its annual Good Friday Easter event. The mission, along with celebrities and elected officials, will serve 3,500 meals, provide Easter baskets with toys to children, distribute 2,000 pairs of donated Etnies shoes and wash the feet of the homeless. English and Spanish interviews will be available, along with interviews with Herb Smith, president of the Los Angeles Mission.

Food preparation and shoe set-up will begin at 4:30 a.m. in the mission's kitchen and dining area; breakfast served to overnight and mission guests at 5 a.m.; breakfast will be served to those waiting in line outside at 7 a.m.; street closes to traffic at 7 a.m.; celebrity arrivals at 10:45 a.m.; food service begins at 11 a.m.; foot washing and Easter basket distribution begins at 11:15

Participants include Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles, Los Angeles City Councilmen Paul Krekorian and Mitch O'Farrell, Police Chief Charlie Beck, Jaimie Alexander ("Thor"), Sondra Currie ("The Hangover"), Kiersey Clemons ("Austin and Ally") and skateboarder Ryan Sheckler.
