Six arrested in underage-prostitution sex sting

Posted: Updated:

An undercover operation to catch men offering to pay for sex with teenaged girls resulted in several arrests.

One by one, the suspects arrived at a motel thinking they were meeting girls as young as 15.

FOX 10 looked through Maricopa County Court documents that describe how the men allegedly arranged to have sex with two teenage girls. What they did not know those two girls were undercover detectives.
Disturbing court documents reveal that police arrested at least six Arizona men for soliciting sex with a minor but there could even be more it's all part of a child prostitution sting in Tempe.

According to records, undercover detectives posed as teenage girls posting sex ads on, which targeted men looking up terms like "fresh, young and new."

The documents also say the undercover officers told all the suspects they were minors between 15 and 17-years-old.

According to court documents, after the suspects allegedly contacted the undercover detectives, they met in Tempe hotels and everything inside the room was video and audio recorded.

Once inside the hotel room, according to the records one suspect, 25-year-old Jared Barnes took off his clothes and gave the undercover detectives "$60" in cash.

It goes on to say after being arrested Barnes told police he knew the girls were under-age and said he did it because he was under "a lot of stress."

In another case, the police report describes how 26-year-old Michael Keller admitted to having used backpage to solicit sex before and told police this time he also asked the undercover detectives posing as girls to "kiss each other."

35-year-old Christopher Benson, according to the documents, asked about having them perform a sick and unusual "fetish" the undercover detectives quoted him "80 dollars" and after Benson arrived late, he agreed to pay 10 extra dollars.

The records also describe how 24-year-old Anthony Collins agreed to sex in the hotel room but said he didn't have cash on him and told them "he would return with 200 hundred dollars" Collins later told police he was hoping to talk the women into "giving it to him for free."

All the men have been booked on counts of child prostitution for knowingly soliciting sex from a minor.
