Apolo Ohno: A Crazy Man

Posted: Updated:

Is it wrong that I called the most decorated US Winter Olympian ever a crazy man?!? Cause that’s what I called the darling Apolo Ohno today on “Good Day LA”. Here’s the thing he’s definitely got that competitive gene thing going on, and I don’t think he’ll ever change. He says life is short and he never wants to miss an opportunity to try something.

So four years after hanging up his speed skating blades, He came on the show to talk about his latest challenge. It’s called “Mission Apolo” and basically he’s coming out of retirement to take on the biggest athletic challenge of his career. He’s training for the world’s most grueling endurance race, the “IRONMAN” World Championship. So instead of his need for speed, he’s going to have to pace himself to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run a marathon next October.

Steve asked him what his mantra is when he’s running and he said he uses a trigger therapy phrase and his is: “zero regrets” be sure and listen to the interview so you can hear how he’s used that phrase.

His journey will all be captured in an eight episode online documentary series called “Mission Apolo: Built With Chocolate Milk” that promises to show his highs and lows as he goes from short-course competitor to a long-course endurance athlete.

To check out his progress you can go to: www.gotchocolatemilk.com

You can also follow him on Twitter which is: @ApoloOhno #MissionApolo #ChocoMilk

It's no secret that Microsoft has struggled in the hardware department so I can't say whether the Surface Pro 3 will be the hero Microsoft needs but I can say it is the modern computing experience users deserve. I love it and think you should too! Read on to find out why.
