Farmington, Minn. man killed in Highway 55 crash

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) -

A 52-year-old man from Farmington, Minn. died Friday morning in a head-on crash that shut down Highway 55 in Mendota Heights.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened just after 5:45 a.m., when an eastbound Toyota Camry veered into the westbound lanes of Highway 55, hitting a Ford Focus head-on near Northland Drive.

The driver of the Camry, a 53-year-old man from Bloomington, Minn., was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. The highway was closed at Lexington Avenue as troopers investigated the crash.
