SWAT Teams Respond To Valley Apartment Shooting, Stabbing

(FOX 11 / CNS) Two people were injured today in an apparent shooting and stabbing at an apartment complex in the Valley Village area near North Hollywood, and a suspect was taken into custody, authorities said.

Officers went to the 12400 block of Weddington Street about 10:30 a.m., and found two people had been injured, according to Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera.

Police Officer Drake Madison said one person apparently had been shot and another person apparently had been stabbed, and a suspect was in custody. Reports from the scene indicated that a woman had been shot and was being treated by paramedics, but another person had been stabbed or injured with an axe.

News media outlets reported that a 65-year-old man was arrested, and that the incident involved a dispute between neighbors.
