Katie Stevens: Faking It

Posted: Updated:

American Idol alum Katie Stevens is back on TV...she stars in the new MTV series "Faking It." It's about two best friends who aren't that popular in high school..until they're "outed" at a party. Even though they're not a couple, the pair gain instant popularity so they go with it. Katie told Steve and Maria things get "complicated", which is why she took the part.

"When I first read the script it was just one of those shows that I knew was gonna be very special and i just wanted t o be a part of it...what I love about our show is that it flips all high school stereotypes on its head so the popular kids are the ones that are the most unique and then the people that we would perceive normally as popular like the jocks and the cheerleaders are the ones that are on the outskirts."

Katie also explained how she never kissed another girl until she got this gig.

"We would joke about it and then the day came and before we did it we had to practice and get all our giggles out...but now it's one of those things we've done it so much it's no big thing."

Katie also talked about her return to the show that made her: American Idol.

"Faking It" airs Tuesday at 10:30 on MTV.
