LAFD Crews Battle Commercial Building Fire In Hollywood

Posted: Updated:
Hollywood, CA - (FOX 11 / CNS) A fire burned through the roof of a two-story commercial building in the Little Armenia area of Los Angeles today, authorities said.

The fire in the 5400 block of West Santa Monica Boulevard was reported about 7:10 a.m., said Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, which burned on the second floor and attic of the building. At around 7:30 a.m., firefighters were ordered to get out of the second floor and off the roof and assume a defensive posture, battling the blaze from the exterior.

Twenty-one engine companies were sent to the scene, and firefighters used ladder trucks to pour water on the flames and prevent them from spreading to other buildings.
