Recording of woman before murder to air on TV

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (AP) - CBS' "48 Hours" this weekend will air parts of a voicemail recorded during the last minutes of a young woman's life as she was murdered. The victim's mother, however, says she wishes the show wouldn't.

The Saturday-night crime series focuses on the 2012 murder of Weight Watchers executive Danielle Thomas by her live-in boyfriend in New York.

During his trial, it was revealed that Thomas' phone recorded a four-minute message that includes her screams and pleas for her life.

The recording was played at the murder trial of Jason Bohn earlier this year but since it wasn't televised, hasn't been heard publicly outside the courtroom.

Thomas' mother says she left the trial when the recording was played and will mute the volume when it comes on TV.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.

A Delta Air Lines flight from La Guardia Airport to West Palm Beach, Florida, was diverted to Jacksonville because of a dispute between passengers over a reclining seat. Delta reportedly says the flight was diverted Monday night when a woman got into an argument with a passenger behind her when the woman was trying to recline her seat while the other passenger was trying to sleep on the tray table.

New York City subway riders are getting back service on the G train between Brooklyn and Queens. The return of service comes as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority reopens a tunnel Tuesday that was heavily damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The Greenpoint tunnel has been closed for five weeks for repairs. Shuttle buses were provided between G stops in Queens and Brooklyn during that time.
