Renting in LA: Alternatives To Pricey Neighborhoods

Posted: Updated:

If you want to move to a neighborhood that may be a little out of your price range, Jonathan Eppers is the CEO and founder of RadPad talked about some slightly cheaper options:

In Hollywood, if you want to save about 12% a month on your rent, Studio City or Los Feliz is a great alternative.

Santa Monica is one of the most expensive cities in Southern California right now. You can save about 25% a month by living in Mar Vista or West LA. Culver City is a bit more expensive than Mar Vista, but is still a better alternative to Santa Monica.

If you go up to Malibu but don't want to pay $4000/month for a one bedroom, go farther inland by going to Topanga or Woodland Hills and save nearly 55% a month in rent. These locations aren't right on the beach, but a 5-minute drive will put you on the beach.
