Authorities searching for serial bank robber

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are on the hunt for a brazen bank robber who allegedly robbed three banks in just one hour Wednesday.

Now authorities are giving the public their first look at the suspect.

Investigators believe the robber is between 20 to 25 years-old; he did not even attempt to hide his face as he robbed each bank, about 30 minutes apart.

Officers say the robber slipped a note to the tellers demanding money, as soon as he left the bank he fled in a getaway car driven by a woman.

"It was really fast, we went out there to see it, and we didn't see anything," said a nearby worker.

"The patients saw them running out, and we went running out to see police standing outside," said a worker named Simone.

The suspect hit a Chase Bank around 12:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon at Tatum & Bell. Thirty minutes later he robbed another bank, a Wells Fargo across the street from where officers were investigating the previous robbery. Then thirty minutes after that he hit a Desert Schools Federal Credit Union at 7th St & Union Hills.

Three banks in one hour, not your typical bank robber.

"That is really super crazy, brave, very brave," said Simone.

Officers describe the suspect as 5'9" to 5'10" tall, wearing a long sleeve grey shirt, blue jeans, and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap. Witnesses say he fled in a getaway car driven by a Hispanic female.
