Police: Woman Robbed After Leaving Mill Creek Chinese Food Store

Police are looking for a man who robbed a woman in Southwest Philadelphia.

On May 5 at 10:12 pm, a 34-year old female was inside the Rising Sun Chinese Food store located at 4800 Westminster Avenue when an unknown male approached the complainant from behind and pressed an object against her side demanding money.

After taking $4 from the woman she left the store when the suspect began following her to her car.

When the woman arrived at her car the suspect went into the passenger side taking her schoolbag from the front seat then fled on foot and was last seen toward 49th and Parrish Streets.

The schoolbag contained assorted id, credit cards, and a tax refund check.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 30-40 years-of-age, 5'7-5'8, medium build. He was wearing sunglasses, yellow t-shirt, puffy black vest with distinctive loops on the front, and torn blue jeans.

    A 9-year-old boy was shot in the head just before 3:30pm on Tuesday afternoon. It happened on the 4700 block of Knorr St in the Tacony section of the city.The boy was transported to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His condition is unknown at this time, but police tell Fox 29 that he suffered a graze wound to the head.So far there have been no arrests.
