Joe De Sena: Spartan Up! Obstacle Course

Posted: Updated:

This morning, Maria Sansone and Lisa Breckenridge became Spartans! They met Joe De Sena, founder of Spartan Race and author of SPARTAN UP! A Take-No-Prisoners Guide to Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Peak Performance in Life.

Spartan Race is becoming a tribal movement. In 2014, there will be a race every other day in 15 countries on five continents.

Spartan Race stands for pushing through adversity, changing your frame of reference, and personal transformation. SPARTAN UP! expands on these core principles, providing a blueprint for living life to the fullest.

You don’t need to be an athlete or body builder to participate in the race. Age, gender, and physical ability are no barrier and those who finish become entirely new people, without limitations.

A legend in the ultramarathon community, De Sena completed more than 50 ultramarathons (in conditions ranging from minus 30 to 120 degrees F) and 14 Ironman events, including the 135-mile Badwater ultramarathon, the 140.6 Lake Placid Ironman, and a 100-mile Vermont trail run—in a single week.

Spartan Up can help people get healthy, become more productive at work, and improve their relationships.

Spartan Up is available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
