Cooling Centers Open During Heat Wave

(FOX 11/ CNS) Cooling centers and outdoor "splash pads" were open today throughout Los Angeles County to help residents beat the heat.

A map of the county's 94 cooling centers and 12 splash pads or pools can found at Hours and days of operation vary.

County officials suggested the county's 88 libraries as alternativespots to stay out of the heat.

Tips for dealing with the heat wave can be found at under Safety Preparedness.

Los Angeles city libraries are keeping their doors open until 8 p.m.every day until Thursday, and until 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

The following city senior centers will be open as cooling centers from

10 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday:

extended if the need arises.
