Disneyland Price Hike: It'll Cost A Little More To Enter The Magic Kingdom

Posted: Updated:
Anaheim, CA - Disney prices are going up! $4 per person, from $92 to $96 for one day passes to either the park or california adventure, for anyone over nine years of age.

"Like any business, we periodically evaluate our pricing and make adjustments based on a variety of factors" says Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown. Attendance has surged, add park officials, who are suspending the sale of Southern California passports which allow residents more than 200 visits a year. Those who already have the passports, or those that expire within 90 days, will be able to renew.

"It's steep,, but we will adjust" says one of many visitors outside the Disney gates. Most talk about trade offs, though. One park instead of two different locations...or driving and not spending money on a hotel.

"We are staying home" says a family that lives 15 minutes from the park. Indeed, many people living around Southern California attractions can't afford to visit them. "Milk is going up, electricity, water, rent...." says a retiree who used to take his grandchildren to Disneyland. " who can afford it?

Next door to him, a woman in her twenties holds a three year old who has never been to Disney. "I know they try to offer payment arrangements for locals," she explains, adding "when a couple of tickets costs more than my gas or electric bill, what am I gonna choose?"
