Helicopter Crash In Santa Paula Riverbed, One Person Dead

Santa Paula, CA - (FOX 11) The pilot of a helicopter was killed this morning after he clipped some power lines near the Santa Paula airport.

Firefighters found the helicopter in a riverbed south of the airport, in Ventura County. They had to put out a small fire set off by the downed power lines.

The helicopter is a small two-seater, called a Robinson R-22. It was based out of the Channel Islands Flight School in Oxnard but the pilot's identity has not been released.
