Suspected bank robber arrest in Detroit

DETROIT (WJBK) -- A suspected bank robber who prompt a lockdown at Clawson Public Schools is under arrest.

Clawson police, with the assistance of the FBI and Oakland County Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force, arrested 39-year-old Matthew Pickett at a known drug house in Detroit.

Police say Pickett entered the Key Bank on 14 Mile Road in Clawson Wednesday afternoon.  He handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and asking for money.  The suspect fled on foot prompting a lockdown of Clawson Public Schools.

Pickett is being held in the Oakland County jail.  He is expected to be arraigned on bank robbery charges in Federal court Friday.
