CAMDEN, DE -

Delaware Police say an anonymous tip lead them to marijuana grow operation West of Camden.

Troopers responded to a wooded area east of Almshouse Road and south of Westville Road around 5:45 p.m. Monday and discovered 855 marijuana plants weighing approximately 380 lbs. growing in an area where trees had been cut and cleared.

An irrigation system was set up by the unknown suspects who utilized a gas powered generator connected to a pump in order to draw water from a nearby stream.

Troopers also located tools such as shovels, hoes, a machete, and a pick axe along with two tents, sleeping bags and several articles of men’s clothing.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact Sgt. D. Hake at 302-697-4454 ext. 619 or the Delaware State Police Mobile Crime Tip Application available to download at: http://www.delaware.gov/apps/
