Suspected serial flasher arraigned Thursday

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -- A man is now formally charged in a series of flashing incidents. He's accused of repeatedly exposing himself to young schoolgirls.

The suspect's name is Mario Robert James. FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports he is a father of eight children.

The 39-year-old is charged with aggravated indecent exposure and accosting children for immoral purposes.

He is accused of parking on the corner near Detroit's Durfee School and exposing himself to multiple girls ages 12 to 14 as they walked to school.

Now after a sketch was released tips came pouring in. Police were finally able to track James down last week and arrest him.

They went to his home in Detroit and they did find a green pickup truck, one that witnesses said they saw during the those incidents when he allegedly exposed himself.

Asher was told three victims were able to pick him out of a live line-up.

His attorney, Scott Wyatt, declined to comment and tried to get the media kicked out of this arraignment for his client. He tried three times and each time the judge denied him. He said he didn't want his client's identity to be revealed. Asher heard the concern might be that more victims may come forward.

James received a $250,000 cash/surety bond on the first two cases and a $500,000 cash/surety bond on the third case.
