Group home worker to stand trial after videotaped beating

DETROIT (WJBK) - A worker has been ordered to stand trial for the alleged beating of a disabled adult woman in a group home on Strathmoor in Detroit.

Kadia Konate-Dennard has been charged with one count of vulnerable adult abuse, two counts of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm and two counts of felonious assault.

Thursday Konate-Dennard was bound over as charged and a count of torture was added.

She remains in custody and is due back in court June 12.

The alleged beating was videotaped by a fellow employee at the home, Dominique Blade.

Blade told FOX 2's Ron Savage the victim was beaten with an extension cord and the metal handle of a mop.
