A newly released 911 call is giving more insight into the night actor Michael Jace allegedly shot his wife April to death at their Los Angeles home. The call reveals the former star of TV’s “The Shield” notified his father in law about the shooting, moments after it happened.
In the 3 minute recording released by Los Angeles Fire Department, we hear the victim’s father tell 911 dispatchers Michael Jace called and texted him saying he shot April, and wants him to come to the house to get the couple’s young children.
Michael Jace was arrested on May 19, after he placed his own call to 911. Police say he admitted to shooting his wife. That call has not yet been released.
Jace is best known for playing a cop on the FX drama “The Shield”.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear, although the actor appeared to be having financial troubles in recent years, filing for bankruptcy in 2011.
Michael Jace has been charged with murder, but has not yet entered a plea. He’s scheduled to be back in court later this month.
