The Other Shoe Is Starting To Drop

Posted: Updated:
Well the lawsuits certainly got front page and top of the newscast attention when they were filed in April.  Big name Hollywood types allegedly sexually abused a then teenaged would be actor named Michael Egan at  a series of wild parties in an Encino mansion and also in Hawaii.  Bryan Singer,  David Newman, Garth Ancier, Gary Goddard…. all accused .  At the time Egan’s lawyer , in news conferences at the swanky Four Seasons Hotel attended by news organizations from all platforms, networks, and countries, breathlessly reported the allegations.  Forced sex, guns, it was fairly lurid.  Egan’s mother was even there.

Now, it seems Mr.  Neuman has been quietly dropped from the suit, since Egan apparently said under oath in a related lawsuit more than ten years ago that Neuman never abused him. It ‘’undermines the credibility of the accuser in all the cases’’, our legal expert Leo Terrell said.  Egan’s attorney was ‘’showboating’’ said Terrell, and that attorney, Jeff Herman, of Florida has or course not returned repeated calls for comment, nor has his publicist.  We’ll see what happens going forward, as the other three defendants have also filed motions to dismiss.   Abuse is obviously a serious allegation and must be vigorously pursued but potentially frivolous allegations aren’t fair.  Perhaps the plaintiff will now find himself a defendant in a  ‘’malicious prosecution’’ suit.
