Acting Teacher Faces Sex Crime Charges In Court

From Gigi Graciette:

"The truth lies inside" is written in black marker over what appears to be the entrance to the Carter Thor Studio, an acting school run by actor Cameron Thor and his wife in Studio City.

It's hard to tell if the writing is art and part of the school or unwanted graffiti; maybe even a snide reference to the search police detectives have been on.

A search for the truth.

Cameron Thor was arrested this week on charges he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in 2008.

Detectives with the LA County Sheriff's Department say the victim had been meeting with Thor about taking acting classes. After one of those consultations, detectives say Thor drove her to a secluded area in Agoura Hills where he sexually assaulted her.

And they say their sexual "encounters", for lack of a better word, continued from April 2008 to March of 2009.

Cameron Thor was charged in court yesterday with 11 counts, including kidnapping, robbery and rape.

Bail for the actor, who has appeared in movies like "Jurassic Park", where he played Lewis Dodgson, "A Few Good Men," and "Hook," as well as the TV show "Star Trek: The Next Generation" has been set at $2.6 million dollars.

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 19th.

(FOX 11 / CNS) A 54-year-old man suspected of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Agoura Hills after the teen consulted him about acting classes was facing multiple sex crime counts today, authorities said.

Cameron Thor was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"After one of the consultations, suspect Thor drove (the victim) to a secluded area in Agoura Hills and sexually assaulted her," according to a sheriff's department statement that listed the dates of offense as April 2008 through March 2009.

The case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, which filed charges against Thor, including one count each of committing a lewd act against a child under 14; kidnapping; robbery; rape; sexual penetration; and rape or sexual penetration, the sheriff's department reported.

Thor, who was due to be arraigned today at the Van Nuys Courthouse, was being held at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles in lieu of $2.6 million bail, according to the sheriff's department.

The case was investigated by the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau.
