Same-Sex Couples Begin Tying the Knot In Wisconsin

Posted: Updated:

MILWAUKEE, WI- A federal judge struck down Wisconsin's ban on same-sex marriage on Friday, prompting dozens of couples across the state to hold last minute marriage ceremonies.

A historic moment in Wisconsin.

"May this couple always bear witness to love that we witnessed today," said the Pastor.

These words made it official that Matt Schreck and Jose Fernando Gutierrez had become the first same-sex couple in Milwaukee county, to say 'I do.'

Matt and Jose are joined together, now legally married.

"It's amazing, it's amazing to be with my best friend for the rest of my life," said Shreck.

The two have been together for 7 and a half years.

Their story is similar to the dozens tying the knot.

Couple after couple came and went.

Every one of them shared a commitment, on a historic, and memorable evening.
