The USA went toe-to-toe with its nemesis Ghana and won the game 2-1 Monday.

FOX 11 spoke to fans during the watch party hosted by Los Angeles galaxy in Hermosa Beach.

"It's really good we scored in the first second minute," USA fan Danny Robinson said.

Gideon Ampofo and his friends are big Ghana fans  : "Right now we're going to fight hard, it's just the first half. We'll come back, Ampofo said.

The past two world cups Ghana knocked the US out of the competition in 2006 and 2010. This year Fifa ranked the US 13th and Ghana 37th.

"I think USA has a very good team this year and I think we're going to blow it out," Robinson said

Diego Agostini says he just moved here from Brazil.

"I live here now, I'm cheering for the place I live," Agostini said.

Agostini says he likes to see all the futbol fans supporting their teams.

"It's growing and it's getting better," he said of the sport. "But, there's still a lot to learn, like to cheer from the heart," Agostini said.

Sisters Serena and Angela are here for different reasons.  Angela likes the players

"I like them all, that's the problem," Angela laughed jokingly.

Serena loves the sport.

"It just brings everyone together to have pride for their team," Serena said.

The next LA Galaxy watch party of Mexico vs Brazil will be held at Universal City Walk Tuesday.
