Woman Unable To Join Military Because Of Tattoo

Posted: Updated:

SACRAMENTO, CA- A woman in California says her dream of joining the Air Force was nearly cut short, due to a tattoo she got years ago.

Autumn Armstrong has a large chest tattoo she says she got in memory of her brother.

He was just two years old when he was found drowned in the neighbors' pool.

The tattoo reads, "Each Day Is A Gift," and was meant to be a reminder to others who would see her tattoo.

Autumn added that when she got the tattoo, she had known she wanted to join the military, but was unaware of the strict policy on tattoos.

Although the piece means a lot to her, she's going to get rid of it, since several recruiters told her the tattoo would bar her from entering the service.

A tattoo removal business heard Autumn's story and is willing to assist her in the removal process.
