Illinois Six Flags Opens "Goliath" Rollercoaster

Posted: Updated:

GURNEE, IL- Nothing says summer is here like riding roller coasters at the amusement park.

And Six Flags Great America in Illinois is unveiling a structure that is certainly for the brave of heart.

It's called the Goliath, and it's the tallest, steepest and fastest wooden coaster in the world.

Riders climb to the summit of a 165-foot peak before plummeting down the world's tallest and steepest drop at speeds of 72 miles per hour.

The ride also features three over-banked turns, and according to Six Flags it's an adrenaline rush like no other!

Goliath opened to the public on Wednesday.
