Donald Sterling Leaves Hostile Messages For Doctors

Posted: Updated:

If it's Thursday, there must be another Donald Sterling headline. Does anything this man does surprise you any more? The latest are audio recordings, voice mail messages, in which he uses profanity and berates and threatens the two psychiatrists who reportedly examined him and found him ''mentally incompetent'', paving the way for the other Sterling, Shelly, to cut out Donald from being an executor of the family trust. That means she can close the deal to sell the Clips to Steve Ballmer for a tidy 2 billion without Donnie's OK. Not surprisingly, he doesn't agree with the experts assessment of his mental state, and let them know it. So today, lawyers for the charming Sterling couple, each has a set of their own ( it's a shame they don't take all that money they're spending on lawyers and donate it to charity) were back in court in downtown Los Angeles, Pierce O'Donnell, her lawyer, who says Donald threatened to ''take him out'' and '' it wasn't to Spago'', asked a judge for a protective order barring Donald from trying to intimidate lawyers and witnesses. The judge didn't issue the order, but did recognize the emotional volatility of these proceedings and told both sides to ''tone it down a bit''. I could've told 'em that, and I 'm not a judge. Meantime, Donald's still pursuing his one billion dollar suit against the NBA, we're all waiting to hear what , if any, ''dirt'' his investigators have dug up on other owners, and a July 7th date is set for a judge to hear from both sides on this mental competency issue. Donald Sterling. The gift (to the news biz) that keeps on giving. Insert groan here.
