Los Angeles, CA -

Los Angeles and Southern California will welcome 4,328 newly naturalized citizens on Friday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The candidates, lawful permanent residents who have met all the requirements for citizenship, represent more than 120 countries. Eighteen members of the Armed Forces will also join the group of soon-to-be U.S. citizens taking the oath.

The top ten countries represented at Friday's ceremonies will be: 1) Mexico; 2) Philippines; 3) El Salvador; 4) China; 5) Iran; 6) Korea; 7) Guatemala; 8) Vietnam; 9) Armenia; and 10) India. These monthly naturalization ceremonies highlight the successful efforts of the Los Angeles District Office of USCIS to process thousands of lawful permanent residents to become citizens of the United States of America. During Fiscal Year 2013, USCIS adjudicated more than 93,000 citizenship cases in USCIS District 23 which covers the seven counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
