Weekend Roundup: Wiener Nationals, US Air Guitar & Aaron Carter

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Wiener Nationals

It's the race that decides the fastest wiener dog in the West! The 19th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals is an event for the entire family, with more than 80 dachshunds racing for a championship title on Saturday, July 19 at Los Alamitos Race Course that benefits the Seal Beach Animal Care Center. And don't forget: On Sunday, July 20, Wienerschnitzel is celebrating National Hot Dog Month and its 53rd Anniversary with unlimited 61¢ Classic Hot Dogs all day long! Choose from the Original Chili Dog, Mustard Dog or Kraut Dog for just 61¢ each. First wiener dog race starts at 6:30pm with the Championship race at 9:15pm. Free parking; Admission $3, Children 17 and under free.

US Air Guitar

Get ready for an awesome show that will rock your world! The US Air Guitar Semi-Finals are shredding their way through Los Angeles with some of the best air guitarists in the country ready to compete including Paige "Kingslayer" King and Brandan "Tyrannicus Lord of the End Times" Baker. The winner will head to Finland later this year to represent the US at the world championships. The face melting begins at 8pm on Saturday, July 19, at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Aaron Carter

The youngest male solo artist to have four Top 40 singles, pop sensation Aaron Carter began his career in show biz at the age of seven. Now 26 years old, the international star is about to embark on a 50-city tour called "Aaron Carter's Wonderful World" that goes from September 18 through end of 2014 with sold-out shows in January 2015. But first, you can catch him here in LA at his two shows this weekend -- Friday, July 18 at Federal Bar in Long Beach and Saturday, July 19 at Canyon Club in Agoura Hills. 1) He is an American singer. He came to fame as a pop and hip hop singer in the late 1990s, establishing himself as a star among pre-teen and teenage audiences during the early-first decade of the 21st century.

2) Carter began his performing career at the age of seven, as the lead singer of a local band, Dead End. He left the band after two years because they were leaning towards alternative music and he wanted to do pop. He made his first solo appearance, singing a cover of The Jets' "Crush on You", when opening for the Backstreet Boys in Berlin in March 1997. The performance was followed by a record contract, and in the fall of 1997, he released his first single, "Crush on You". His first full-length album was released on December 1, 1997. The eponymous debut album achieved gold status in Norway, Spain, Denmark, Canada, and Germany, and was released in the United States on June 16, 1998.

3) His next album, Aaron's Party (Come Get It) was released in the United States on September 26, 2000 under the Jive label. The album sold more than 1.5 million copies in the United States.[3] The album included the hit singles, "I Want Candy", "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)", "That's How I Beat Shaq" and "Bounce", which the songs received airplay on Disney and Nickelodeon. He also made several guest appearances on Nickelodeon and opened up several concerts for Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. In December of that year, the album went platinum and he began dating teen actress Hilary Duff.
