Posted: Updated:
WOODBURY, Minn. (KMSP) -

The Minnesota State Patrol has confirmed a high-speed chase on Highway 110 and Interstate 494 that ended in Woodbury, Minn. is not connected to the fatal shooting of a Mendota Heights police officer just 3 hours earlier.

Fox 9 reporter Paul Blume was standing outside the Mendota Heights Police Department when officers scrambled into their squads, shouting “chase.”

The chase started at about 3:15 p.m., with troopers chasing a green Saturn down Highway 110 to Interstate 494. The pursuit continued down Interstate 494 before a trooper spun-out the fleeing vehicle on the exit to Lake Road in Woodbury.

More than a dozen officers surrounded the car with guns drawn, taking the suspect into custody without incident.
