Atwater Village, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) A woman wounded by a shotgun blast in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting as she exited the Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park today was reported in good condition at a hospital.

The shooting in Atwater Village occurred about 6 a.m. on or near the Colorado Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway, said Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh.

The woman, alone in her vehicle, was driving north on the 5 Freeway approaching Colorado Boulevard when one or more shots were fired from a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet, Borihanh said.

The woman exited at Colorado Boulevard, and one or more additional shots were fired at the passenger side of her car, Borihanh said.

The 41-year-old woman, whose name was not made available, was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening wounds to her upper body, an arm and her neck, and she was listed in good condition, Borihanh said.

The Colorado Boulevard off-ramp was closed for about two hours while authorities conducted an investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.
