HEAT WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MST /10 AM PDT/
WEDNESDAY TO 8 PM MST /8 PM PDT/ THURSDAY. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT
WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* AFFECTED AREA...THE LOWER DESERTS IN SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA INCLUDING
THE IMPERIAL VALLEY...AND THE CITIES OF EL CENTRO AND BLYTHE. THE
SOUTHWEST AND WEST-CENTRAL DESERTS IN ARIZONA INCLUDING PARKER...
YUMA...TACNA...GILA BEND...COOLIDGE AND THE GREATER PHOENIX
METROPOLITAN AREA.

* TEMPERATURE...AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
WILL RANGE FROM 112 TO 117 DEGREES ACROSS THE LOWER DESERTS.
OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL BE VERY WARM...IN THE UPPER 80S TO LOW 90S
AT THE WARMEST URBAN SITES.

* IMPACTS...EXCESSIVELY HOT TEMPERATURES CAN BE STRESSFUL TO
ANIMALS AND HUMANS...MAKING IT HARD FOR THE BODY TO ACCLIMATE
AND REMAIN HYDRATED. EXTREMELY WARM OVERNIGHT LOW
TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 80S TO LOW 90S...DO NOT ALLOW THE
BODY TO COOL DOWN PROPERLY OVERNIGHT...AND CAN MAKE EXTREME

SERIOUS SYMPTOMS INCLUDE WEAKNESS...SKIN THAT IS COOL TO THE
TOUCH...FAST BUT WEAK PULSE...NAUSEA...AND FAINTING. SEVERE
SYMPTOMS INCLUDE HOT AND RED DRY SKIN...FAST AND STRONG
PULSE...SWEATING THAT HAS STOPPED...AND UNCONSCIOUSNESS.
UNTREATED HEAT ILLNESS CAN LEAD TO FATAL HEAT STROKE.
